Behind every story is a reason it needed to be told. Mine was never about becoming an author. It was about survival, imagination, and finding light in places that once felt impossible to escape.

I’m J M Duckworth, creator of the Molly Mee: The Awakening series — a collection born from emotion, reflection, and the quiet moments where reality and imagination begin to blur together.

Life has a way of reshaping you. Through personal challenges, heartbreak, healing, and the experience of caring for those I love most, I discovered that stories can become more than fiction. They can become places of refuge. Places of understanding. Places where broken pieces begin to make sense.

The world of Molly Mee was created during moments where I needed hope myself. What started as imagination slowly evolved into something far greater — a journey of awakening, remembrance, acceptance, and ultimately transformation. The themes woven throughout the series reflect the questions many of us silently carry:
Who are we beneath the expectations of the world?
What happens when we stop running from ourselves?
And can healing ever truly change humanity?

I write emotionally driven young adult fantasy with metaphysical undertones, blending mystery, connection, inner growth, and the unseen energy that binds people together. My stories are for readers who have ever felt different, lost, overwhelmed, or destined for something more.

But beyond the books, there is also purpose.

The Molly Mee series represents the belief that creativity can build something meaningful in the real world too — that stories have the power not only to inspire, but to create change, connection, and compassion.
